I've been seeing a lot of random Medusa things lately so I decided to make a pendant.
This lapis lazuli gemstone has been accented with delicate handmade serpents. The serpents represent fertility, rebirth, transformation immortality as well as healing. A silver crescent moon representing divine feminine, crows the top of the gem along with tiny 14k gold filled petals. The silver has been given a dark patina to add drama and contrast to the bright silver highlights. The back of the pendant has stamped with my maker's mark.
Gem lore ~ Lapis is associated with the throat and third Eye is the chakra. It is believed to bring intuition and spiritual insight, giving us understanding of our sub-conscious world and helping us to see the material world more clearly. It allows us to peer past the illusion to access the depths of truth. It is the seat of wisdom and conscience.

What a beautiful pendant! I love it so much. The color of this lapis is so beautiful, and it's faceted in a way that makes it sparkle, and really shows off its specialness. I bought this pendant during a very difficult life event and was so happy to come home from being out of town and have this waiting for me. Thank you for you beautiful work, Melissa.
